CLOUD_4Designer Quentin de Coster was invited  by Gereta Halfin and Kunty Moureau for the month long Brussels Design September Festival. The result is the Cloud fixture, which is an installation and a limited edition on the topic of luxury.

CLOUD_7CLOUD is a work about light and particularly reflection.

CLOUD_Making of_3
Cloud is made up of four hundred ninety three hanging steel petals and a fluorescent tube, this unique installation models the fragmentation of a lampshade, which normally is used to soften or guide light flow.

CLOUD_Making of_6Each high precision laser cut steel ellipse randomly remits and reflects light coming from the tube.

CLOUD_Making of_7

CLOUD_Making of_8Sensitive to air flow as well, these hundreds of petals gently rotate depending on their environment. The whole forms a large cloud in perpetual motion, giving an impression that the petals are floating in mid air.
